Chavara Cultural fests

Chavara Fest is one of the flagship cultural celebrations of Chavara Cultural Centre, Kochi, held to honor the enduring legacy of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara—a visionary who championed education, art, and social harmony.
The 2012 edition of Chavara Fest marked a milestone in promoting youth talent and cultural exchange. The festival featured competitions in music, dance, theatre, and literary arts, attracting participants from schools and colleges across Kerala. It encouraged students to explore creativity while embracing cultural values and teamwork. Building on that success, Chavara Fest 2015 expanded into a larger state-level event, showcasing the diversity of Kerala’s performing and visual arts. The festival included stage performances, exhibitions, debates, and workshops, offering a vibrant platform for artists, students, and cultural enthusiasts to connect and collaborate.
Both festivals reflected the Centre’s mission of “Education through Culture”, promoting unity, creativity, and moral values among young generations. Chavara Fests continue to symbolize the spirit of community, cultural pride, and the transformative power of art envisioned by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara.
